ISE Exhibition 2022

Last week featured the industry’s first Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) exhibition in Barcelona, and from what I heard, space wasn’t an issue! (albeit a few large exhibitors were missing due to the persistent pandemic)

It was a bittersweet exhibition due to the ongoing supply chain issues (read more here), which resulted in significantly fewer announcements.

From most people, the consensus is that there is still too much uncertainty in the industry to predict an end to the current supply chain issues.

Moving on to the event, the trend for providing Audio and Video over IP continues, with CYP adopting Dante/AES67.

StormAudio debuted its new ISP Elite MK3 preamp/processor. The ISP Elite MK3 is the latest high-performance surround-sound preamp/processor from a French manufacturer based in Nantes.

Samsung unveiled its 2022 model of The Wall (Model name: IWB). It is an innovative modular Micro LED display that delivers immersive viewing experiences in a high-resolution, large-screen format (up to 8K 220″).

The IWB will be available in 0.63 and 0.94pixel pitches, with 0.63 being the slimmest ever pixel pitch in The Wall lineup. The new display is now available to preorder globally.

7th annual Top New Technologies (TNT) Awards@ISE were announced. Highlights include:

  • PSB Synchrony T600 Tower Speaker
  • NAD C700 – BluOS Streaming Amplifier
  • WISA Soundsend – Wireless Audio Signal Transmission

But the clear winner was Crestron, featuring their:

And to top it all off, Crestron released the latest firmware to their award winning NVX, bringing Variable Refresh Rate to the platform, further extending it’s capabilities through continual software updates.

ISE might not have been exciting from a product release perspective, but the rejoice of many to network in person made it a most welcome event.
